Welcome to Bolton Karate Centre, and thank you for taking time to look at our site.

Founded in the 1960’s Bolton Karate Centre is one of, if not, the longest established of karate schools in Bolton. The first instructor was Sensei Michael Shuttleworth who held the grade of 2nd Dan, when he left the Centre in approximately 1973.

The current Chief Instructor Sensei Steve Stewart began his karate training at Bolton Karate Centre in 1970. At the time when Sensei Shuttleworth left Bolton Karate Centre Sensei Stewart was the highest grade in the dojo and therefore took over the responsibility for teaching.

Since the mid seventies, students and instructors from Bolton Karate Centre have trained and competed at all levels. Under the leadership of Sensei Stewart, the Centre has produced many Dan grades (Black Belt graded students), World Champions, and World Championship silver and bronze medallists, together with national and regional champions.
